XF 101 version X, September 1999 Text-Only version Introduction This is my humble reference guide to the X-Files. This guide is supposed to be useful to those who are new to the show (if they still exist), and to those who have seen every episode since the pilot. What does "101" mean? That means this is an *introductory* guide. If you are looking for the answers to all questions about The X-Files, you made a wrong turn, somewhere. This guide was born in 1996. Version 1.2 was posted to Usenet in July of 1996, and I do not have older records. This guide is NOT related to x-files101.com, a domain registered by Emily Hinnekens on 07-Jul-98, according to InterNIC. I have no connections to Twentieth Century Fox, either, which owns The X-Files. The plain text version can be found here: http://www.turning-pages.com/xf101/xf101.txt The text version is about 200 KB in size, and it is NOT just an ASCII dump of the HTML version. The HTML version looks best with Netscape 3, and is cross-referenced with more than 3,500 links. Sure, I'd like to add episode descriptions to the episode guide, but it's so much damn work. You try it. Got constructive comments or corrections? Send them in: x-phile@turning-pages.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------- History v X, September 1999 v9.0, March 1999 v8.0, December 1998 v7.1, August 1998 v7.0, July 1998 v6.0, February 1998 v5.0, November 1997 v4.5, September 1997 v4.4, May 1997 v4.3, May 1997 v4.2, March 1997 v1.2, July 1996 These are just the major revisions. [xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx X xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] WHO'S WHO Fox William Mulder (David Duchovny) Special Agent, FBI DOB: October 13, 1961, Chilmark, MA. Mother: Mrs. Mulder Father: William Mulder Sister: Samantha Mulder A.B. in Psychology from Oxford, 1982 Quantico FBI Training Academy, 1984 Nicknamed 'Spooky' at the Academy because of his unconventional theories. However, his eccentric theories are generally tolerated because he is a brilliant criminologist. "You're in the basement because they're afraid of you... of your relentlessness, and because they know they could drop you in the middle of the desert and tell you the truth is out there, and you'd ask them for a shovel." --Scully ---------------------------------------------------------------- Mrs. Mulder (Rebecca Toolan) Mulder's mother. She knows more than she'd like to remember. Appears in Colony The Blessing Way Paper Clip Herrenvolk Paper Hearts Demons ---------------------------------------------------------------- Bill Mulder (Peter Donat) Mulder's father. He worked with Cancer Man for the Defense Department, and according to him [CM], he [Bill] was a proponent of, and authorized, "the project." Krycek kills him in Anasazi, just when he's about to explain everything to his son. Appears in Colony End Game Anasazi The Blessing Way One Son ---------------------------------------------------------------- Samantha Mulder (Vanessa Morley) DOB: January 22, 1964, Chilmark, MA. Disappeared: November 27, 1973. Mulder's sister. Her disappearance at age 8 effectively destroyed the family, and has fueled much of Mulder's search for "the truth"--the truth about her disappearance, his father's work, what the government knows about extraterrestrials, and so on. In Paper Clip, Mulder learns that she was taken away to guarantee his father's silence about "the project." Then, in the movie, WMM tells Mulder a different story. Appears in Little Green Men Herrenvolk Paper Hearts Demons ...and she is mentioned in many other episodes. We see a picture of a younger Samantha in Conduit. Mulder has "visions" (and a picture) of a younger Samantha in Miracle Man. He also finds clones of her in Herrenvolk. We see pictures of her in Little Green Men, Redux II, and others. ---------------------------------------------------------------- 'Samantha Mulder' (Megan Leitch) Alien hybrid who pretended to be Mulder's sister to gain his protection. Killed by the Pilot in End Game. In Redux II, Cancer Man arranges a meeting between Mulder and an adult Samantha. It's likely this one is "the real thing" but there are no guarantees. She also says Cancer Man has told her he's her father, and that she has children of her own. Whether he's her real father or not, that's the role he has been playing for the past few years. According to Cassandra Spender, that was not the real Samantha. Appears in Colony End Game Redux II ---------------------------------------------------------------- Dana Katherine Scully (Gillian Anderson) Special Agent, FBI DOB: Feb 23, 1964 Mother: Margaret Scully Father: William Scully Siblings: Bill, Charles, Melissa B.S. in Physics, University of Maryland, 1986 Medical degree, residency in forensic pathology. Nicknamed 'Starbuck' by her father. Scully was originally assigned to Mulder to debunk his work [The X-Files (pilot)]. Although she has seen pretty weird stuff, she's always looking for a "rational" explanation--like any good scientist would. She was abducted in the episode Duane Barry, and appeared in a hospital in One Breath. The only episode (between those) where she doesn't appear at all is 3. She later discovers a microchip implanted in her neck [The Blessing Way], and find a group of women with the same history [Nisei]. All those women eventually die of cancer, and Scully herself contracts the disease [Leonard Betts, Memento Mori]. Her cancer goes into remission in Redux 2. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Emily Sim (Lauren Diewold) Scully's "daughter." Appears in Christmas Carol Emily All Souls ---------------------------------------------------------------- Margaret Scully (Sheila Larken) Scully's mother. She's lost her husband [Beyond the Sea] and daughter (Melissa) [Paper Clip], and almost lost her other daughter, Dana [Duane Barry and One Breath]. Then she finds out Dana has cancer [Memento Mori]. Poor woman! Appears in One Breath The Blessing Way Paper Clip Christmas Carol ---------------------------------------------------------------- William Scully (Don S. Davis) Scully's father. Appears in Beyond the Sea and One Breath. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Charles Scully Scully's younger brother. We've only seen him as a boy, in episodes like One Breath. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Tara Scully (Kerri Turner) Bill Scully's wife. Appears in Christmas Carol Emily ---------------------------------------------------------------- Walter Sergei Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) Assistant Director, FBI Skinner is Mulder and Scully's immediate superior. Although he struggles to keep them in line, he's risked his job and even his life to protect them. Appears in Tooms Little Green Men The Host Sleepless Ascension One Breath Colony End Game F. Photographic and surveillance specialist of The Lone Gunman. Shows up at the hospital when Scully reappears in the hospital [One Breath], and at Scully's house when Mulder is presumed dead [The Blessing Way]. Ringo Langly (Dean Haglund) Communications expert of The Lone Gunman. John Fitzgerald Byers (Bruce Harwood) Military and information systems expert of The Lone Gunman. Works for the Special Representative to the Secretary General at the United Nations. (She introduces herself as the SR's assistant in Herrenvolk.) Revealed as one of Cancer Man's agents in Zero Sum. But then again, she could be also working against him, like X. She is infected with the "black cancer" in Patient X, and goes into a coma. She shows up again, conscious but in a bad shape, in One Son. Appears in Herrenvolk Teliko Tunguska Unrequited Zero Sum Patient X The Red and the Black One Son ---------------------------------------------------------------- Agent Pendrell (Brendan Beiser) FBI lab technician always eager to help Scully out. Appears in Little Green Men Nisei S.R. 819. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Albert Hosteen (Floyd 'Red Crow' Westerman) Navajo who helps Scully translate the secret information The Thinker has retrieved from the Department of Defense [Anasazi]. He also saves Mulder's life [The Blessing Way]. Appears in Anasazi, and is killed shortly after. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Cancer Man or Cigarette Smoking Man (William B. Davis) The man without name (C.G.B. Spender? Right!), has been there from the very beginning, working in the shadows, pulling the strings. For what purpose? That's only for him to know. What we know is that Cancer Man is one of the major players. He has access to the basement of the Pentagon, and when he's not obfuscating the Truth, he's rewriting it. Cancer Man gets shot in Redux II by Quiet Willy, sent by the First Elder, and he is believed dead. Krycek is sent to bring him back, in The End. Contacts Scully in The Blessing Way to warn her about an assassination attempt on her life, because this would attract unwanted attention to his group. WMM helps Mulder rescue Scully and save her life, and pays with his own life [The X-Files--the movie]. 'We predict the future, and the best way to predict the future is to invent it.' Appears in The Blessing Way Paper Clip Apocrypha Tunguska Terma Patient X The Red and the Black The End The X-Files [movie] ---------------------------------------------------------------- Elder #1 / The Fat Man (Don S. Strongly biased against Mulder and the paranormal, in part because his mother (Cassandra Spender, Patient X) considered herself an alien abductee. [xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx X xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] FIGHT THE FUTURE How did the X-Files translate to the big screen? Nicely. Although it was not better than the better TV episodes, the comparison is unfair. The stakes for the movie were much higher. There is a wider audience to please. The movie has to stand on its own, and make huge profits. Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz did a wonderful job introducing the story and the characters to the uninitiated, without alienating the fans. That is no small achievement. This, alone, makes the movie a success in my book, but there is more. No, we do not learn much about the "mythology"; however, this should have been anticipated. Five years of obscure and complex plot layers cannot be addressed, much less resolved, in a 2-hour movie. What did the movie offer? A good story, and the characters that make the show a success. The movie begins with the X-Files closed (again), Mulder and Scully's partnership about to be dissolved (again), and Scully about to quit the FBI altogether. It ends with their partnership strengthened, the X-Files reopened, and their quest reborn. This is not just "a hollow pursuit" of Mulder's. This is Scully's quest, too, and she is not just Mulder's partner. This is not new, but it is established now better than ever. What about the aliens and the big government conspiracies? Ah, yes, that. We get a few more details, but the story is basically what we saw in The Red and the Black. Aliens are here to colonize, and a few bad men are cooperating with them, trying to buy time to produce a vaccine--the only defense against the enemy. At least that is what it looks like. Although WMM tells Mulder of the Consortium's agenda, gives him the vaccine, and Mulder has a contact of the third kind in the process of rescuing Scully, Strughold tells us "What has he seen? Of the whole, he has seen but pieces." While I do not agree with their methods, and I do not consider them heroes, I have to acknowledge that the elders have a point. If the "truth" were revealed in the 6 o'clock news, human stupidity and fear would take over. Humans can be sensible and compassionate as individuals, but they are incredibly stupid and dangerous as a crowd. I mean, we are... ---------------------------------------------------------------- "If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen, or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized, and easily referenced. --Mulder "I don't believe the FBI currently has an investigative unit qualified to pursue the evidence in hand." --Scully Mulder: Go, be a doctor. Go, be a doctor while you still can. Scully: I can't. I won't. Mulder, I'll be a doctor, but my work is here with you now. That virus that I was exposed to, whatever it is, it has a cure. You held it in your hand. How many other lives can we save? Look, if I quit now, they win. On the one hand, we have the government conspiracy, aliens, cloning, abductions, and colonization theme, which is central to the show. On the other hand, we have the paranormal phenomena, vampires, mutants, and so on, in episodes from Squeeze and The Jersey Devil to Detour and Chinga. This second category can also be called MOTW, for obvious reasons. On the third hand (hey, it's the X-Files), we have the little jewels: Humbug, Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose, War of the Coprophages, Jose Chung's "From Outer Space", Small Potatoes, Post-Modern Prometheus, and Bad Blood. These few episodes are often self-parodies, and always very funny, clever, and enjoyable, which serves as a refreshing change of pace to an otherwise serious, complex and frustrating show. The aliens and government conspiracy theme (the "mythology") is heavy, complex, and difficult to digest. It is also growing more inconsistent as times goes by. Only CC [probably] knows where everything leads, and he promised we will never learn all the answers, because that is not how real life is, either. What we do know is that aliens "have been here for a very long, long time," and they are here trying to colonize the planet. This is how Chris Carter explains it: "The method, as they called it, though it was more so a germ-line procedure of singular mediscientific complexity, had been given to them by the alien colonists as a 'quid pro quo.' The syndicate would help them to create a population of alien-hybrids who would hide in plain sight, cloned from human ova and alien biomaterial. So there would be a clone race immune to the black oil when the return to the planet began. For this, the Syndicate would be sequestered, granted a sort of immunity or asylum, given a place in the grander scheme. "They were the Vichy government to the German final solution - collaborationists whose motivation was simple, self-directed survival. These cloning operations were spread across the country, the cataloguing and record-keeping done through a complex intra-institutional system that connected to every branch of government, from the Social Security Administration to the Department of Defense. The operation, under the working title 'Purity Control,' had been launched in 1948. Its original conception, the brain-child of German scientists given immunity themselves from war crimes and allowed to continue the eugenics experiments that were Hitler's dark legacy. "The Syndicate had begun as a subset of a shadow intelligence agency whose original orders were to create plausible denial and an effective cover-up of 'Purity Control.' But through 50 years, numerous U.S. and UN administrations, the principles began to wrest control, accumulating power and influence across international borders. "Such that by 1990, the operation ceased to have a member accountable to any one government and whose only orders will be taken from a man named Strughold, a German industrialist who had fled his homeland to Northern Africa. These men, whose knowledge and access provided control of a foreseeable future, had in spite of this, everything to lose. Their secret work, the cloning preparations and the cataloguing constituted their greatest vulnerability - exposure. Their detection would insure not just their own demise but a far-reaching dissolution of social and religious order around the globe. "To protect against this, the Syndicate employs methods of disinformation, using covert government programs that had been regrettably discovered as a kind of smokescreen. They dodge or blind where the transgressions of Congress-accountable agencies serve to hide their own more odious undertaking. They had even at times used a UFO phenomena to create a hysteria that science and the intelligentsia denounced so completely as to make belief in believers seem ridiculous and completely discreditable. "They had also, in a crisis, used a tool of the colonists themselves - alien bounty hunters who policed the cloning operations and enforced rule on the countdown to colonization. A double-edged sword whose cold-blooded tactics had helped to stem a leak or threat but who also kept watch on the syndicate. A threat in itself as the Syndicate had something to hide that not even the colonists knew of - a vaccine against the black oil. An inoculant against the substance in which the alien life force was held. In fact, the very medium of the life force itself. "To guard this secret was perhaps even more critical than the truth of the existence of alien life and of colonization. If the Syndicate's own secret vaccine were discovered, a vaccine that would make themselves immune from the effects of the black oil, they would certainly be destroyed and the timetable for colonization stepped up. They would protect this secret with their lives, they would kill to protect it as it symbolized the only hope they had of avoiding enslavement when the planet was overtaken. That they had been able to, over decades, conduct their work on the vaccine undetected, was a result of a code among the Syndicate members to put honor and the future above personal politics. "But now this code was beginning to break down. An incipient scramble for power beginning to develop, a threat from within that doubled the threat from without -- from agents Mulder and Scully and the X-Files." They're Here, Aren't They? There are many kinds of aliens. We have humanoid aliens like the Pilot, who are strong and incredibly enduring. They have toxic green blood, and they can morph into anyone. Then we have alien drones like Jeremiah Smith, who have the same characteristics, except they do not seem to be as tough. Next, we have the alien hybrids and clones, who have the toxic green blood but can't morph like the other aliens. The Pilot's mission is to find them and kill them (Colony, Talitha Cumi, Herrenvolk, Memento Mori). Some of these hybrids are clones of Samantha Mulder (Colony, Herrenvolk), in both young and adult versions. We have also seen the classic "grays," tall and thin (Little Green Men) and very short (Paperclip). A variation of those ... the predatory "grays" in the X-Files movie. Their substance is carried in their blood, called purity, "black cancer," "black oil" (Piper Maru, Tunguska). These oiliens can enter the human host and control them, put them in a coma, or consume the host's body elements to gestate a new kind of alien. The Russians were apparently successful in creating an antidote to drive this alien out of the host's body. This vaccine was used on Mulder in Tunguska/Terma, and he used it to save Scully in The X-Files [movie]. Mulder got the vaccine from WMM, who got it from Krycek. Mulder: What is this? WMM: A weak vaccine against the virus agent Scully has been infected with. It must be administered within 96 hours. That leaves you little time to reach those coordinates. Mulder: You're lying. WMM: No. Oh, I have no means to prove otherwise. The virus is extraterrestrial. We know very little about it, except--it was the original inhabitant of this planet. Mulder: A virus? WMM: What is a virus, but a colonizing force that cannot be defeated. Living in a cave, underground ... until it mutates, and attacks. Mulder: This is what you've been conspiring to conceal? A disease? WMM: No, for God's sake! You've got it all backwards. AIDS, the Ebola virus ... on an evolutionary scale, they are newborns. *This virus* walked the planet long before the dinosaurs. Mulder: What do you mean, "walked"? WMM: Your aliens, agent Mulder. Your little green men. They arrived here millions of years ago. Those that didn't leave, have been lying dormant, underground, since the last ice age, in the form of an evolved pathogen ... waiting to be reconstituted by the alien race, when it comes to colonize the planet ... using us as hosts. Against this, we have no defense. Nothing, but a weak vaccine. Do you see why it was kept secret? Why even the best men, men like your father, do not let the truth be known? Until Dallas, we believed the virus would simply control us; that massive infection would simply make us a slave race. Imagine our surprise when they begun to gestate. Mulder: Why are you telling me this? WMM: For the sake of my own children. Once it's learned what I've told you, my life will be over. The video edition of the movie adds this piece of dialog (just before "Why are you telling me this?"): WMM: Survival is the ultimate ideology. Your father wisely refused to believe this. Mulder: But he sacrificed my sister. He let them take Samantha. WMM: Without a vaccination, the only true survivors of the viral holocaust will be those immune to it--human-alien clones. He allowed your sister to be abducted, to be taken to a cloning program for one reason. Mulder: So she would survive ... as a genetic hybrid. WMM: Your father chose hope over selfishness. Hope, the only future he had, his children. His hope for you was that you would uncover the truth about the project, that you would stop it, that you would fight the future. Monsters Begetting Monsters When we are talking about a "government conspiracy," we are actually talking about a very secret and restricted section of the government, and not even a government restricted to one country. The "government" as a whole is not a homogeneous entity, and certainly not very efficient at keeping secrets. Mulder and Scully work for the government, but they are obviously not a willing part of any conspiracy. This secret group is actually an international organization (Anasazi), also called the consortium, the syndicate, or the elders. They used to meet on West 46th Street, in New York City, and they were directed by Strughold, who seems to be working in Tunisia. The elders (or most of them) were burned alive in One Son. Fowley and Cancer Man escaped; others may not have shown up at all. Scully was abducted in Duane Barry. She has no clear memory of her abduction, but she later discovered an implant (an advanced computer chip) on the back of her neck (The Blessing Way). Removal of this implant seems to cause cancer, with terminal consequences for at least 11 other women from MUFON, who had also been abducted and experimented with (Nisei, 731, Memento Mori). Apparently, the purpose of these experiments is to create a race of human/alien hybrids. The purpose of the implant is not clear, but it seems to work as a tracking or homing device (Patient X, The Red and the Black). These monsters have no reservations about "breeding" smallpox-carrying bees (Herrenvolk, Zero Sum), and testing them in small populations. These bees can also carry alien DNA (The X-Files [movie]). The FBI's Most Unwanted Why do we care about all this? Because of Mulder and Scully. It all started with Mulder's obsessive search for the "truth"--the truth about the disappearance of his sister, when he was 12 and she was 8. Through hypnotic regression, Mulder came to believe that his sister had been abducted by "aliens." As it turns out, he has plenty of reasons for being paranoid. In Anasazi, we discover that his father worked with Cancer Man, and was deeply involved in unspeakable experiments on humans. A year later (Talitha Cumi), we discover his mother had an affair with Cancer Man. Then, Mulder is assigned a temporary partner, Krycek, who turns out to work for Cancer Man, then a Russian spy (Terma), and then a free agent. Krycek also helps Duane Barry kidnap Scully, and kills Mulder's father (Anasazi). Whom can you trust? Mulder, Scully, Margaret Scully, the Lone Gunman, and Skinner. Unofficial Channels Mulder has his informants, but their trustworthiness is going from bad to worse. First, he had Deep Throat, a member of the syndicate with moral reservations about their agenda. These leaks got him killed at the end of the first season (The Erlenmeyer Flask). Then we had X, who turns out to be a Cancer Man agent (Wetwired). However, X has also helped Mulder, and even saved his life (731). X is exposed as a double agent and killed by one of Cancer Man's men in Herrenvolk, in front of Mulder's apartment. With his dying words written in blood, he directs Mulder to another informant, Marita Covarrubias. She, too, has a complicated relationship with the syndicate, and a more interesting relationship with Krycek. Finally, Dr. Alvin Kurtzweil also points Mulder in the right direction, but he is quickly killed by WMM (or WMM's driver). Season 1 The X-Files pilot does everything right. It takes us to that first meeting between Scully and Blevins when she is assigned to the X-Files in the silent presence of Cancer Man. We are also there for the priceless first meeting between Mulder and Scully, where their antagonistic relationship is founded--as well as their mutual trust. There are nose bleeds, alien implants, missing time, abductions, flashlights, running in the woods at night, shadowy government agents cataloging the only piece of evidence left in the basement of the Pentagon, an alien-looking corpse, "Cut the crap, Mulder" Scully and "Do you believe in the existence of extraterrestrials?" Mulder, the Infamous Mosquito Bite Scene... what more could you ask for? 'So, who did you tick off to get stuck with this detail, Scully?' --Mulder. The X-Files (pilot) The second episode introduces one of the more important recurring characters, who also names the episode itself: Deep Throat. Deep Throat was a member of the secret international consortium, but he apparently had moral reservations about it. He confesses his crimes to Mulder in E.B.E. 'Mr. Mulder, they have been here for a very, very long time.' --Deep Throat Mulder: Tell me I'm crazy. Scully: You're crazy. (Deep Throat) In Squeeze, we see that Scully does not buy into Mulder's theories, but she respects him ("Mulder's ideas may be a bit out there, but he is a great agent"). Their colleagues seem interested only in their own resumes and promotions, but Mulder couldn't care less about all that. He does not mind working in the FBI's basement, as long as his superiors leave him alone to continue his personal quest. Although he is intellectually superior to many of his peers, Mulder does not have an ego problem; he is quick to tell Scully "you were right" when she catches Tooms. Scully's father dies in Beyond the Sea. We also meet her mother, who will become another important recurring character. We will not see either of Scully's brothers until the end of the 4th season, when Bill Scully, Jr., appears in Gethsemane. Although... we do see them as kids in episodes like One Breath. Bill Jr. had a scene with Scully at the hospital in Memento Mori, but it was cut because the episode was too long. This scene was shown in 'Inside the X-Files'. 'Keep it up, Mulder, and I'll hurt you like that Beast Woman did.' --Scully. (The Jersey Devil) E.B.E. introduces Mulder's most important allies (besides Scully), the Lone Gunman trio: Frohike, Langly and Byers. We learn about how they met in 5th season's Unusual Suspects. Like Mulder later says, "don't let their looks fool you." The Gunmen are computer nerds, but they are very proficient computer nerds. Their technical expertise has helped Mulder and Scully many times. Frohike is the more sentimental of them. He visits Scully at the hospital in One Breath, and visits her again when Mulder is presumed dead in The Blessing Way. Byers: Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the leader of the Russian Social Democrats, is being put into power by the most heinous and evil force in the twentieth century. Mulder: Barney? (E.B.E.) 'On X-Files cases investigated by agent Mulder and myself to date, we have a conviction or case solution of 75%. That's well above the current bureau standard.' --Scully (Tooms) Skinner: Do you believe them? Cancer Man: Of course I do. (Tooms) Tooms foreshadows the first season finale. Mulder already suspects the X-Files are going to be closed down. This is Skinner's first episode, and it's also the first episode where Cancer Man actually says something. The first season ends with a bang: In The Erlenmeyer Flask, we meet the green-blooded alien hybrids. Mulder is exposed to the toxic fumes and Scully has to rescue him. With the help of Deep Throat, Skeptic!Scully retrieves what looks like an alien embryo, to exchange for Mulder's life. During the exchange, Deep Throat is killed by Cut Crew Man. Finally, Skinner's superiors force him to close the X-Files. Season 2 Little Green Men is the most satisfying season premiere so far. Scully is teaching, back at Quantico, and Mulder is stuck doing electronic surveillance. Senator Matheson, Mulder's ally in Congress, summons Mulder and sends him to Arecibo, to make "contact." Scully goes after him. They return without the evidence they need, but the experience renews Mulder's quest and his partnership with Scully. Skinner finally stands up to Cancer Man and kicks him out of his office. 'I don't have the X-Files, Scully, but I still have my work, and I have you, and I have myself.' --Mulder. (Little Green Men) In Sleepless, Mulder is assigned a partner, Ratboy. I mean, Krycek. Mulder is wisely suspicious of him, as we soon learn that Ratboy work for Cancer Man--or so we are led to believe, until 4th season's Terma. "The Son": Don't you want to live forever? Mulder: Not if drawstring pants come back into style. (3) Duane Barry is an ex-FBI agent who believes he has been abducted by aliens. When Mulder captures Duane, they find an implant they can't identify. Duane escapes and kidnaps Scully, to offer her to the "aliens." Mulder captures Duane Barry in Ascension, but he doesn't find Scully. 'I have more respect for you, Mulder. You're becoming a player.' --Cancer Man. (One Breath) In One Breath, Scully suddenly appears in a hospital, in a coma. Skinner leads Mulder to Cancer Man, where he [Mulder] confronts him with a gun to his face. Despite Mulder's objections, Scully is taken off life support (as she had requested in her living will), and in the end she awakens from the coma. Skinner reopens the X-Files. In Colony, Samantha seems to be back, but turns out to be an alien hybrid looking for protection from the bounty hunter. Mulder's parents appear for the first time. X and Skinner have a memorable close encounter in End Game. Humbug was Darin Morgan's first episode, and added a new dimension to the show. Mulder's kind of humor had always been a fundamental part of the XF, but Humbug took it even further, and made episodes like Jose Chung possible. 'Watch your back. This is just the beginning.' --Skinner. (F. Emasculata) 'You're choosing a dangerous time to go it alone, Agent Mulder.' --X. (Soft Light) The second season ends with another bang. In Anasazi, a computer hacker breaks into the DOD's computers, and copies sensitive files that supposedly expose the government's cover-up of the evidence of extraterrestrials, their experiments on humans, and more. The hacker ("The Thinker") records the information on a digital tape which he gives to Mulder, who is then chased by Cancer Man and his associates. 'They will be coming.' --Albert (Anasazi) 'In the desert, things find a way to survive. Secrets are like this, too. They push their way up through the sands of deception so men can know them.' --Albert (Anasazi) Cancer Man visits Bill Mulder, revealing they had worked together for the Defense Department. Bill Mulder and Scully are named in the encrypted files, but the context is not clear. Krycek kills Bill Mulder, and Fox is presumed dead in the Arizona desert. 'Nothing disappears without a trace.' --Albert (Anasazi) Season 3 In The Blessing Way, Albert heals Mulder, who is "visited" by visions of Deep Throat and his father, urging him to continue his quest. Scully discovers the implant in her neck, a souvenir from her abduction. Her sister Melissa is shot by Luis Cardinal by mistake (he and Krycek were after Scully). Skinner calls in Cancer "I don't made deals" Man to negotiate Mulder's and Scully's safety. The episode ends with Scully and Skinner in Mulder's apartment, pointing a gun at each other, with "someone" at the door. 'Nothing vanishes without a trace.' --Cancer Man. (The Blessing Way) In Paperclip, Mulder comes back, kisses Scully passionately (neah, just teasing a few of you...), and they find a secret archive of medical records buried inside a mountain. In that archive, they find medical records for Samantha and Scully. From his sister's records, Mulder learns he was going to be taken instead. Krycek beats Skinner up and steals the digital tape. Cancer Man tries to have Krycek killed, but fails. Melissa dies. Skinner threatens Cancer Man with exposing his secret files (an idle threat, but you gotta love that scene). 'I've heard the truth. Now what I want are the answers.' --Scully. (Paperclip) In Nisei, Scully finds 11 women who claim to know her from their abductions. Scully does not want to believe that, even when they show her the implants they all had extracted from their necks. They also tell Scully that all of them are dying from cancer. Both Mulder and Scully are told what they want to hear, but what about "the truth"? 'There are hits and there are misses, and then there are misses.' --Scully. (Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose) In Piper Maru, Skinner is ordered to stop the investigation into Melissa's murder. When he challenges that order, he is threatened by the Gray Haired Man and others, and he is later shot in the stomach by Cardinal. The French find the oiliens at the bottom of the Atlantic, and the "black cancer" escapes, jumping from person to person until it finds Krycek. 'You know, I never thought I'd say this to you, Scully, but you smell bad.' --Mulder. (War of the Coprophages) In Apocrypha, Cancer Man finally recovers the digital tape from the oilien-ed Krycek, and take him/it to his/its spaceship in a silo in North Dakota. Scully captures Cardinal, who is then killed in prison. Wetwired takes paranoia to the extreme, seriously affecting Scully and making her believe that Mulder is part of the big conspiracy. The episode ends with X reporting to Cancer Man. The season finale reveals that Mulder's mother had an affair with Cancer Man, and shortly after their encounter she has a stroke. Mulder and Scully chase a renegade alien drone who has the power to heal... which comes in very handy to Cancer Man, who has lung cancer. He is cured, and in return lets the drone escape. Season 4 In Herrenvolk, Jeremiah Smith takes Mulder to a bee colony maintained by clones of a younger Samantha and others. The Bounty Hunter shows up and kills everyone, of course. X is eXecuted. Just before dying, he directs Mulder to his next informant, Marita Covarrubias, at the United Nations. Cancer Man has the Bounty Hunter save Mulder's mother, because "the fiercest enemy is the man who has nothing left to lose," but we all know better. 'Don't unlock doors you are not prepared to go through, Agent Scully.' --X. (Herrenvolk) 'Nothing happens in contradiction to nature, only in contradiction to what we know of it.' --Scully. (Herrenvolk) 'What science may never be able to explain is our ineffable fear of the alien among us. A fear which often drives us, not to search for understanding, but to deceive, inveigle and obfuscate; to obscure the truth not only from others, but from ourselves.' --Scully. (Teliko) For me, I estimate their works and them So rightly, that at times I well nigh dream I too have spent a life the selfsame way--- Tread once again an old life's course. Perchance I perish'd in an arrogant self-reliance An age ago; and in that act, a prayer For one more chance went up so earnest---so Imbued with better light let in by Death--- So free from all past sin---that it was heard... That life was blotted out---not so completely But scatter'd wrecks enough remain to wake Dim memories; as now, when once more seems The goal in sight again: all which is foolish Indeed, and only means---the form I bear, The earth I tread, and not more clear to me. --from Robert Browning's "Paracelsus" (The Field Where I Died) Tunguska/Terma: Krycek is back! And he gets quite a beating from just about everyone. He also loses his left arm. Mulder and Krycek travel to Tunguska, where they are captured and Mulder is exposed to the "black cancer" with other prisoners. The Russians were experimenting on a vaccine to drive the "black cancer" out of the body, which is what saves Mulder. Scully: Refusing an assignment? That makes it sound like you're my superior. Mulder: Do what you want. Don't go to Philadelphia. But let me remind you that I worked my ass off to get these files reopened, you were just assigned. This work is my life. Scully: And it's become mine. Mulder: You don't want it to be? Scully: This isn't about you. Or maybe it is indirectly, I don't know. I feel like I've lost sight of myself, Mulder. It's hard to see--let alone find--in the darkness of covert locations. I mean, I wish I could say that we're going in circles, but we're not. We're going in an endless line, two steps forwards and three steps back. While my own life is standing still. Mulder: All this because... because I didn't get you a desk? Scully: Not everything is about you, Mulder. This is my life. Mulder: Yes, but it's... (Never Again) For the first time I feel time like a heartbeat, the seconds pumping in my breast like a reckoning; the numinous mysteries that once seemed so distant and unreal threatening clarity in the presence of a truth entertained not in youth, but only in its passage. I feel these words as if their meaning were weight being lifted from me, knowing that you will read them and share my burden as I have come to trust no other. That you should know my heart, look into it, finding there the memory and experience that belong to you, that are you, is a comfort to me now as I feel the tethers loose and the prospects darken for the continuance of a journey that began not so long ago, and which began again with a faith shaken and strengthened by your convictions. If not for which I might never have been so strong now as I cross to face you and look at you incomplete, hoping that you will forgive me for not making the journey with you. --Scully. (Memento Mori) Scully finds out she has inoperable cancer in Memento Mori. Skinner makes a deal with Cancer Man in exchange for a cure for Scully--which will not come soon or easily. But it will cost Skinner, in Zero Sum. Tempus Fugit: Max is back. Apparently, a stealth military plane intercepts a "UFO" as it is trying to "borrow" Max in mid-air. Mulder goes for a swim and finds the "UFO" in a nearby lake. Is that an alien? Maybe. Maybe not. Remember Jose Chung? Ah, Pendrell gets shot. Max: Pendrell dies. Mulder recovers a bag with the object Max died for, and he speculates it is an alien power source. His flight is intercepted and he loses the bag. Scully: I actually... I was thinking about this gift that you gave me for my birthday. You never got to tell me why you gave it to me or what it means, but I think I know. I think that you appreciate that there are extraordinary men and women and extraordinary moments when history leaps forward on the backs of these individuals. That what can be imagined can be achieved. That you must dare to dream. That there is no substitute for perseverance and hard work, and team work, because no one gets there alone. And that, while we commemorate the greatness of these events and the individuals who achieve them, we cannot forget the sacrifice of those who make these achievements and leaps possible. Mulder: I just thought it was a pretty cool key chain. (Max) Demons gives us more non-answers about Samantha's "abduction," in what may or may not be real flashbacks. Great. In Gethsemane, Scully announces her cancer is spreading. One of her brothers FINALLY shows up. Kritschgau tries to convince Mulder and Scully that they've been fed lies all along. Mulder is presumed dead, victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. We do not learn much here, but Mulder's beliefs are being seriously shaken. Mulder: You have no opinion? Scully: This is your holy grail, Mulder, not mine. Mulder: What is that supposed to mean? Scully: It just means that proving to the world the existence of alien life is not my last dying wish. Mulder: How about Santa Claus or the Easter bunny? This is not some selfish pet project of mine, Scully. I'm as skeptical of that man as you are, but proof, definitive proof of sentient beings sharing time and existence with us, that would change everything. Every truth we live by would be shaken to the ground. There is no greater revelation imaginable, no greater scientific discovery. Scully: You already believe, Mulder. What difference will it make? I mean, what will proof change for you? Mulder: If someone could prove to you the existence of God, would it change you? Scully: Only if it had been disproven. Mulder: Then you accept the possibility that belief in God is a lie? Scully: I don't think about it, actually. And i don't think that it can be proven. Mulder: But what if it could be? Wouldn't that knowledge be worth seeking? Or is it just easier to go on believing a lie? Scully: I can't go with you, Mulder. (Gethsemane) Kritschgau: The lie you believe, that they have cleverly led you to believe, agent Mulder... is that there is intelligent life other than our own, and that we have had contact with these lifeforms. Mulder: So you're saying this has all been orchestrated--a hoax? Kritschgau: Which you've been used to perpetuate. Mulder: You come by this knowledge... how? Kritschgau: Working for the DOD, Watching a military-industrial complex, that operated unbridled and unchecked during the cold war, create a diversion of attention from itself and its continued misdeeds, by confabulating enough believable evidence to convince passionate adepts like yourself that it really could be true. Mulder: And just by chance you run into agent Scully? Kritschgau: That's just like you, agent Mulder. Suspicious of everything but what you should be. I ran the DOD's Agitprop Arm for a decade. I can show you records of disinformation dating back to the Korean War, before you were even born. Mulder: Why come to me now? Why not four years ago? Kritschgau: I have a son who is very sick. He served in the Gulf war. The lies are so deep--the only way to cover them is to create something even more incredible. They invented you. Your regression hypnosis, the story of your sister's abduction, the lies they fed your father. You wanted to believe so badly. And who could have blamed you? Mulder: And the thousands of UFO Sightings? Kritschgau: Above top-secret military aircraft, concept-designed to feed hysteria. Mulder: Evidence of alien biology? Kritschgau: Unclassified, but naturally occurring biologic anomalies science will eventually explain. Mulder: The body that was found? Kritschgau: Meticulously constructed out of bio-materials created through the hybridization of differentiated cells--what are called chimeras. Frozen into place over the course of a year, using sediment and materials that would bear out its age. Poured through a small channel drilled in the rock above. Mulder: They would know that the body would be carbon-dated, that it would be proved a fake. Kritschgau: The body will never be tested, agent Mulder. Mulder: What do you mean? Kritschgau: You were only meant to see it, to make you believe the lie. So that you might finally commit and go public with the news. Mulder: [to Scully] This man is a liar. Kritschgau: You can see for yourself, agent Mulder. The body is already long gone. (Gethsemane) Scully: I'm sorry, but the facts here completely overwhelm any argument against them. Mulder: Facts overwhelmed by the lies created to support them. Scully: Mulder, the only lie here is the one that you continue to believe. Mulder: After all I've seen and experienced I refuse to believe that it's not true. Scully: Because it's easier to believe the lie, isn't it? Mulder: What the hell did that guy say to you, that you believe his story? Scully: He said the men behind this hoax, behind these lies, gave me this disease to make you believe. (Gethsemane) Season 5 The 5th season premiere is slow and difficult to digest, but the conclusion of the 3-part arc is much more satisfying. Cancer Man introduces Mulder to someone who could be his real sister, who believes Cancer Man is her father. This is not a happy family reunion, of course, as 'Samantha' is not eager to dig into the past. She only wants to move on with her life and children (she does not mention a husband). Mulder uncovers section chief Blevins as a spy, who is quickly killed. Scully's cancer goes into remission. Cancer Man is shot and presumed dead. Mulder's quest and faith are seriously shaken. 'Please tell me you're here with severe chest pains.' --Mulder. (Redux II) Unusual Suspects is an entertaining and informative flashback to 1989, that shows the origins of the Lone Gunman and how they met a Scully-less Mulder. Post-Modern Prometheus is another fun episode, presented in black and white as a homage to old monster movies, specially Frankenstein. There's a monster, a mad scientist, complete with a happy ending. Things get serious soon, as we are back to the Big Conspiracy and the hybrid clones with Christmas Carol and Emily. Scully can't take a normal vacation. As soon as she goes home to spend Christmas with her family, she starts getting calls from her dead sister, urging her to protect a 3 year-old who turns out to be her daughter. Emily is a hybrid clone, who dies without the right treatment. There is great hype about episodes written by Stephen King, William Gibson and Tom Maddox. However, Chinga is an average MOTW (with precious Mulder/Scully scenes, though), and Kill Switch is good, but not ground-breaking. Patient X and The Red and the Black reveal a bit more than the usual about the alien colonization plans and the "government" conspiracy to keep it secret, which is then confirmed in the X-Files movie. At The End of the season, though, Cancer Man burns Mulder's office, and the X-Files are closed. Season 6 Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Vancouver anymore... The sixth season's opening is anything but subtle. The production has moved from Vancouver to Los Angeles, and we are reminded of this every step of the way, from the very beginning. We start with a shot of a blazing sun in [supposedly] Arizona. It doesn't take a big leap to compare and contrast the next scene, with two men running towards us, with the scene of the two cavemen at the beginning of the XF movie. In evolutionary terms, 37,000 years is not a very long time. Maslin: And, so, the plot...I-I'm just trying to get this straight. The plot is for these spacelings to take over the planet aided by a group of men here on Earth? Mulder: A shadow conspiracy within our own government. Maslin: Who are growing corn in the middle of the desert, which features pollen which was genetically altered to hold a virus, which will be taken away by bees whose sting transmits the virus, causing the growth of an extraterrestrial biological entity inside the human host? (The Beginning) The move from Vancouver to Los Angeles is more than a note on the side. We lost the richness of the Vancouver settings, but more importantly, we lost the crew that developed this show. The Los Angeles crew may be technically proficient, but they simply cannot have the same insight into this show. This is not their fault, obviously. They inherited a successful product, while the Vancouver crew worked on it through much tougher times. Was this move necessary? Not for the audience, and not for the show. Next time, I'll wear a clown suit and do balloon tricks. --Mulder. (The Beginning) Now--the X-Files is not dead, but it seems weaker, lost and adrift. The movie did a much better job recruiting new fans while pleasing philes at the same time. The recap in The Beginning was too literal and cheap. They shouldn't have to spell everything out like they are explaining something to a moron. The XF became a successful show because it was dark and not easy to follow (among other reasons), not because it tried to please a wider audience. The short exchange between Mulder and Scully in Biogenesis... Scully: Mulder...look, after all you've done, after all you've uncovered...a conspiracy of men doing human experiments, men who are all now dead. You exposed their secrets. I mean, you've won. What more could you possibly hope to do or to find? Mulder: My sister. ...is simply insulting. It is quite appalling to see Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz listed as the writers here. Mulder uncovered and exposed nothing. He has no hard evidence. He has won nothing. Worse than that, this little dialog reduces Scully to the role of Mulder's sidekick, after all these years and all they've been through. What about her sacrifices and losses? What about her quest? What about her cancer and the computer chip implanted in her neck? What about that wonderful reaffirmation of their partnership and their joint quest at the end of the movie? Reducing everything to Mulder's quest for his sister at this point is offensive. Mulder: I don't see there's any argument here. You admit yourself that the crime report is a lie. Scully: Mulder, that doesn't mean that I can just accept your theory. (The Beginning) We did have interesting episodes (Triangle, Dreamland, S.R. 819...), including a successful follow-up to the 5th season's Unusual Suspects, Three of a Kind. It is not common for "sequels" to be as good as, or better than, the original. So what is there to complain about? Overall, the 6th season is unsatisfactory because it lingered on the important issues instead of developing them. The big revelations at the end of the 5th season and the movie didn't go anywhere. Farmer: Jehovah's Witness? Scully: No, sir. Federal Bureau of Investigation. (Drive) The Beginning proposed new questions and then dropped the ball. Where is Gibson Praise? He is too important to simply disappear, like Krycek and Marita. Why are the "new" aliens more predatory? We only had Two Fathers/ One Son to advance the "mythology." Why is the green goo toxic to humans only sometimes? When Krycek kills the alien rebel, he and Spender do not seemed bothered by the green goo at all. Biogenesis is work in progress, and we have to wait until the resolution to see where they are going. It certainly didn't have many shocking revelations, like Anasazi. What the 6th season had was plenty of experimental episodes. Triangle had an uncommon continuity that energized the story, and the letterbox presentation gave it a movie look. How the Ghosts Stole Christmas was interesting, though the "You shot me first!" exchange was anything but funny. Ed Asner and Lily Tomlin may be good, but big names do not belong in the XF. As Chris Carter's experimental episodes go, 5th season's Post-Modern Prometheus was more solid and enjoyable. The Unnatural, written and directed by Duchovny, was another interesting variation. Dreamland was funny and well done. S.R. 819 put Skinner in the foreground, and forced him in a very interesting relationship with Krycek. Now that Krycek has the power of life and death over Skinner, Skinner is more willing than ever, and less able than ever, to strike back. Skinner is now forced to betray Mulder and Scully [Biogenesis], and it is going to be very interesting to see when and how he breaks free from Krycek's leash. The "mythology" had been exposed to a great extent in the 5th season's The Red and the Back, the XF movie, and now Two Fathers/ One Son. The alien invaders, an evolved virus called purity and also referred to as the black oil and black cancer, are coming back to reclaim the planet. The group of men known as the Syndicate or the Elders, has agreed to collaborate with the invaders hoping to survive the invasion, and secretly stall the invaders. The Syndicate has agreed to create a race of human/alien hybrids, and for this purpose the aliens have provided a sample of their DNA in the form of the alien fetus [The Erlenmeyer Flask]. In exchange, the Syndicate has turned over their children to the aliens. Supposedly, the aliens are also experimenting on these people trying to create human/alien hybrids. Some of the humans have been returned and periodically taken again (like Cassandra and Max), while others have apparently never returned (like Mulder's sister). Stacy Muir: You two looking for Karin about boarding? Mulder: No, it's actually more of a behavior problem. Scully: Yeah, he doesn't listen and he chews on the furniture. (Alpha) Aiming for more than just survival, Bill Mulder proposed to use the alien DNA to develop a vaccine to be used against the black oil. The Syndicate has been partially successful in developing this vaccine--it worked for Mulder [Tunguska], Scully [the XF movie], and Marita [One Son]--but this vaccine is only effective while administered within 96 hours after infection [the XF movie]. Cassandra Spender was the first successful human/alien hybrid. As soon as the aliens found out about her, colonization would begin. Another race of aliens, the alien rebels, oppose colonization and have tried to expose the project. In One Son, the alien rebels steal the alien fetus and kill most of the Elders. Cassandra is presumed dead. Langly: You know, Byers, growing old with us ain't so bad. Frohike: Oh, shut up, Langly. You really want him to kill himself? (Three of a Kind) Cancer Man ("C.G.B. Spender") is disappointed in his son, so he kills him [One Son]. Fowley has been working for Cancer Man for a while, and she's apparently the only person he trusts. Biogenesis parallels The Erlenmeyer Flask, in some ways. Both end with Scully making a big discovery that goes against her beliefs, Mulder is incapacitated, and their work is on the rocks--in Erlenmeyer, the X-Files are closed, and in Biogenesis Skinner himself is forced to betray Mulder and Scully. Let's not forget the monkeys. Now, we wait half a year for the conclusion, at the beginning of the final season. They better be good. For a more complete explanation of episode titles, visit Laura Witte's X-Files In-Joke List [xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx X xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Q and A Are the X-Files based on true stories? Some of them, very vaguely. It's fiction. It's a TV show. Get it? Are Mulder and Scully ever going to have an intimate relationship? Absolutely and positively NOT. Ever. It's not gonna happen. And if it happens, I'll deny it. Besides, their working relationship is far more interesting. UST is a zillion times more interesting than RST. Do the producers accept unsolicited material (stories)? No. Where do you get the episode titles from? Newspapers, TV Guide, online ... they're everywhere (except on the show). Is it Cancer Man or Cigarette Smoking Man? 'Cigarette Smoking Man' is the official name. Always has been. 'Cancer Man' is mostly used on the Internet, although Mulder, Scully and Skinner have used it as well. 'Cancer Man' is better. End of discussion. Why doesn't Cancer Man just kill Mulder or have him killed? The game is much more interesting and complicated than that. Why does Mulder tape an 'X' on his window? Check the Official "Why Does Mulder tape an X on the Window?" Home Page at http://www.turning-pages.com/xf/whyx.htm Did Mulder's father shoot himself? Right. Wanna buy one of my buildings? Could Melissa be alive? Don't be a bleephead. Who is Melissa? Check Who's Who. Could Mulder and Scully be siblings? Yeah, in your twisted mind. Could Mulder be Cancer Man's son? I'm going to pretend I didn't hear you ask that. What's the big deal about 11:21 PM? That's Chris Carter's wife's birthday (11/21). What about 1013? Ten Thirteen, CC's production company, his birthday, Mulder's birthday. Was 'The Thinker' the fourth 'Lone Gunman'? I'll get back to you on that. Do you have pictures of Skully naked? Get a bleeping life. Where can I find another episode guide? Get Cliff Chen's episode guide, look at the sites listed on the front page. Take a look at the official site as well, www.thex-files.com Isn't it spelled e-x-c-e-l-s-i-u-s? Public opinion is divided on this. The "official" sources spell it excelsius, but the dictionary says that's not a word, while excelsis is. So that's that for now. What does __________ mean? Start with a dictionary. If it's not there, look for it on the XF sites listed on the front page, and with your favorite search engine. If it's not there, post the question to the newsgroup. But I don't have time to look at all those sites! That's your problem. What's X2? The X-Files in syndication. Old episodes are rerun on weekends. Check http://www.turning-pages.com/xf/xfs.htm for the local stations. These reruns are cut to make room for commercials. What about the reruns on fX? fX shows them *uncut*, 8 pm and 11 pm, Mon-Fri. What's fX? A cable channel. Where can I get info on the official fan club? Ask these guys: The X-Files Official Fan Club P.O. Box 344 MT. Morris, IL 61054 See the official site for international addresses. Where can I get more information about the show? http://www.thex-files.com/ http://www.altavista.com/ http://www.metacrawler.com/ http://www.infoseek.com/ http://www.deja.com/ http://www.remarq.com/ [xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx X xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] MISCELLANEOUS Episode Tags [the truth is out there] TRUST NO ONE The Erlenmeyer Flask DENY EVERYTHING Ascension '' '' '' ' ' EI `AANEIIGOO 'AHOOT'E Anasazi APOLOGY IS POLICY 731 EVERYTHING DIES Herrenvolk DECEIVE, INVEIGLE, OBFUSCATE Teliko E PUR SI MUOVE Terma BELIEVE THE LIE Gethsemane ALL LIES LEAD TO THE TRUTH Redux RESIST OR SERVE The Red and the Black THE END The End DIE WAHRHEIT IST IRGENDWO DA DRAUBEN Triangle IN THE BIG INNING The Unnatural U.S. Video Releases "Wave 1": [1] The X-Files (pilot) and Deep Throat.
